Almendra Cáceres

Almendra has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the La Molina Agrarian University (UNALM). He is a member of the Young Peruvians against Climate Change (JPCC) collective. Youth representative in the Peruvian delegation for COP 28 – Dubai. In addition, Almendra has worked on the calculation of the Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint, as well as the development of mitigation scenarios, circularity diagnosis, and training on climate transparency issues and negotiations in agriculture.
In 2023 Almendra was chosen to participate in Climate Reality’s Operation COP Peru program, an intensive training program in climate change and international negotiations. In addition, she was the young woman selected to represent Peru as part of the delegation that participated in COP28. During her participation, Almendra followed the topics of Global Balance and Transparency.
Almendra is an activist, she was part of RUA Peru and in 2018, she was president of the National Meeting of Universities and the Environment (ENUMA18), where more than 300 people attended to train on environmental and climate change issues. She is currently a member of the Young Peruvians Collective Against Climate Change and during 2023 she led the Workshop Series: How to speak in COP language? which brought together more than 300 attendees virtually to train them on climate negotiations.
Almendra also has a great interest in literature, being runner-up in the Lucha Libro literary improvisation contest. In addition, she is part of the group of authors of 3 published books: Kutimusaq y otros ecofictions, The Pillow Woman, and 264 Months of Pregnancy.
