About us

Our call: Change the course, change the world.
Our Dragonfly spirit has always kept us on a steady course towards a sustainable horizon and, today more than ever, we know that sustainability is the only solution to the systemic problems facing humanity.
The environmental crisis generated by rising concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere, the degradation of natural resources, ecosystems and biodiversity, as well as inequity and social disconnection, threaten the stability and continuity of human life on the planet. For us, every challenge is an opportunity for transformation, and to truly transform the world, we must first change our course.
This is why, in 2007, Libélula was created in the light of a great dream: to connect the key actors of the transformation to face the global challenge of climate change and work together for a more sustainable world. zero emissions, zero waste, zero poverty and 100% of regenerated ecosystemswhere human beings live in harmony within the limits of the planet. Learn more about how we contribute to these goals in our environmental and sustainability policy.

Why "Dragonfly"?
Dragonfly began as a dream of transformation; a dream without a name until a dragonfly entered what was then our first office.
This fact aroused our curiosity and as we researched more about this species, we discovered that they can take flight quickly, that they have 360° vision and that they can be found in all regions and climates. In addition, they play a key role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem where they live and are a symbol of connection with nature and transformation for several cultures. So, at last, we gave the dream a name: Dragonfly.

Growth of the private sector
We witnessed how the sustainability approach was expanding in our country. We had the privilege of accompanying companies such as BCP, Pacifico, Credicorp from their first steps towards sustainability and becoming more and more committed companies from their core-business.
2014

Press and climate change
Since its inception, Libélula has maintained close channels with the main media in the country and in Latin America. From our ConexionCOP platform created in 2014, we have simplified the communication of processes related to climate negotiations, facilitating the work of opinion leaders from Latin American and Caribbean countries.

We were privileged to participate in the Paris process.
We had the privilege of participating in the Paris Agreement process. We closely supported the COP20 negotiations in Lima and were present at the COP21 in Paris, where we informed decision-makers through ConexiónCOP and made available our citizen cultural device, the "Time Machine"to show the story behind climate change.

Ecopyme
Knowing that there are a large number of SMEs in Peru that are looking to become more profitable, we have created a Good Housekeeping Practices Platform for them.
Ecopyme is a tool through which companies can record and monitor their energy and water consumption over time, discovering opportunities to do so more efficiently. It also presents recommendations for technologies or standard practices to reduce the consumption of these resources, thus generating economic savings.

We are committed to Young Leaders for Climate Change
Thanks to the Swiss Cooperation, we developed the first Peruvian youth movement for climate change. Under the umbrella of the +1 for the WorldIn the last few years, we promoted a series of projects under the +1 brand that resulted in the formation of sustainability champions who today contribute from the private, public and civil society sectors.
2008

We contribute to the national process of adaptation to climate change through the PACC Peru project.
We built capacities for adaptation to climate change in the Andes. The PACC sought to strengthen the capacities of populations and public and private institutions to face the effects of climate change in a planned manner and reduce their vulnerability, with emphasis on rural areas, through adaptation strategies, policies and measures based on a solid knowledge and learning base that will enable them to influence the country's public policies and international negotiations on climate change.

Turning science into an input for climate action
Libélula's work methodology is based on identifying scientific and political bases to solidly guide the decision making of our private and public sector clients. This scientific evidence is our input to design different types of actions, such as "Time Machine" style cultural interventions.
