Here is a selection of the most relevant celebrations and events on climate change and sustainability that will take place this month.

SEPTEMBER Celebrations
- 01/09 - Arbor Day
This date seeks to encourage a more respectful behavior with the environment, as well as the care and planting of trees to improve the environment. The objective is to become aware of their vital importance, in addition to assuming a commitment to the care and preservation of forests.
- 07/09 - International Clean Air Day for a Blue Sky
Clean air is important for people's health and daily lives, and air pollution is the greatest environmental risk to human health and one of the leading preventable causes of death and disease worldwide. Such pollution disproportionately affects women, children and the elderly and has negative effects on ecosystems.
- 16/09 - International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
o. Ozone is a gas, similar to oxygen, which concentrated at the highest levels of the atmosphere forms a layer, known as the ozone layer. It is important because it acts as a protective shield against ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
- 16 to 22/09 - Sustainable Mobility Week
This week dedicated to sustainable mobility is celebrated in several countries with the aim of promoting sustainable, safe and healthy mobility habits to build greener, safer and less polluted cities.
- 19/09 - Day of Integrated Solid Waste Management
On this date, participatory, innovative and integral solutions to environmental problems generated by the absence or inadequate management of solid waste are promoted.
- 09/19 - International Beach Cleanup Day
It is dedicated to raising public awareness of the need to keep these areas clean for the healthy enjoyment of the population and to highlight their contribution to global biodiversity.
- 09/22 - World Car Free Day
The purpose of this day is to call on citizens to leave their cars for a day and try new means of transportation, thus encouraging the use of other more efficient and sustainable means of transportation.
- 24/09 - World Maritime Day
The global maritime theme for 2020 is «Sustainable shipping for a sustainable planet». This day was established by the United Nations to maintain and improve the safety of marine wildlife and prevent pollution of the oceans.
