October: Get to know the events not to be missed
October is here, and we are getting closer and closer to COP21 in Paris. That is why we have prepared a selection of the most important events related to climate change this month so that you do not miss a detail on the road to a better world.
The week from the 5th to the 12th brings us the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the meeting of authorities in which the future of the world economy, financial stability and economic development in the world will be discussed.
Art also has a very important space, with the exhibition: “Plástico Nómade”, which will be presented from October 7 to November 7 at the Parra del Riego Cultural Center in Barranco.
The mystical city of Cusco will witness the third edition of InterCLIMA (27, 28 and 29): the space in which advances in climate change management in the country are shown.
October 5:
World Habitat Day 2015: “Public spaces for all”.”
World Habitat Day is observed annually on the first Monday of October, by virtue of the resolution 40/202, adopted by the General Assembly in 1985. On this date we reflect on the current state of cities and housing in general; to take action to make cities safer and more livable communities for all. More information here.

Road to Lima 2015: World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting
Road To Lima is an initiative for dialogue and debate among leading economic authorities, academics, representatives of civil society and the private sector to discuss relevant and topical issues regarding the global economy, financial stability and economic development in preparation for the 2015 Annual Meetings in Lima, Peru. October 7 to November 7
Art Exhibition: Plástico Nómade
The conscious art exhibition Plástico Nómade, will feature a photographic exhibition by artist Andrew Hughes, who has documented the travels of plastic on various coasts of the world and points as far away from us as Alaska. Organized by LOOP, it will be held at the Juan Parra del Riego Cultural Center (Pedro de Osma 135, Barranco). More information here.

COP12 on Drought and Desertification
COP12 of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and Drought. The objective of this meeting is to strengthen capacities for planning, decision-making and regulatory systems, essential elements for the implementation of an adequate sustainable land management in all countries of the world. IV LEDS LAC Regional Workshop: Building Bridges for the Implementation of Low Emission and Climate Resilient Development Strategies
The IV Regional Workshop, organized by the Low Emission Development Strategies Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean (LEDS LAC) and the National Council for Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism of the Dominican Republic, will focus on building bridges for the implementation of low emission and climate resilient development strategies, an approach that applies not only to the link that can be generated between people working on the issue but also on the importance of linking and generating synergies between different sectors, levels of government, actors and approaches when addressing low carbon development issues.
