MAY 2023

Through the activities carried out along these three migratory routes and the resulting exchange of information, WMBD wishes to raise awareness of the threats, both general and specific, faced by birds.

The purpose of this date is to raise awareness in society about the importance of treating waste properly, so as not to contribute to climate change, and thus protect the environment.

Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly threatened by the effects of human activity. Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of ecosystems, essential for the production and reproduction of many crops and wild plants.

The celebration of World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, organized by UNESCO every May 21, highlights not only the richness of the world's cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development, as well as its economic value.

While we are increasingly aware that biological diversity is a global asset of great value for present and future generations, the number of species and ecosystems is declining at an accelerating rate due to human activity.
