The third month of the year has started and we present a list of events related to climate change and the environment that will take place so that you don't miss a single detail. All these meetings are very important because they contribute to the construction of the road to a better climate world.

World Wildlife Day

The celebration reinforces the inextricable link between wildlife, people and sustainable development. It therefore calls upon the responsibility of each generation to protect wildlife for the next generation.

IV Regional Dialogue on Climate Finance for Latin America and the Caribbean

This meeting will bring together around 70 Latin American, Caribbean and European experts to analyze the barriers and opportunities for financing climate change projects in the region. The event is organized by the National Climate Change Office of the Secretariat of the Environment of Paraguay, with the support of EUROCLIMA, IDB, GIZ, ECLAC, OECD, UNDP, among others. It will be held in Asunción, Paraguay.

Green Climate Fund Board meeting

The Green Climate Fund is the primary source of funding for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects globally. At this meeting, the Board will discuss outstanding issues related to the operation, policies and procedures of the Fund. Venue: Yeonsu-gu, South Korea.

IVth World Congress of Biosphere Reserves

There are more than 650 biosphere reserves in the world, of which more than 120 are in Latin America and the Caribbean. These are areas where the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity is promoted. The main objective of the event, organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment of Peru, will be to develop an action plan for biosphere reserves for the period 2016-2025.

World Forest Day

This day, organized every year by the United Nations, seeks to raise awareness of the importance of forests to humans. 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihoods, medicines, fuel and food.

World Meteorology Day

This year's World Meteorological Day will have the theme “Hotter, drier, wetter. Face the future”, in reference to the heat waves, droughts and storms that are occurring more frequently due to climate change, and will seek to promote climate action.

Forum of Ministers of the Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean

The Forum, which has been held periodically since 1982, has established itself as a political meeting of reference in the region with respect to environmental issues. It seeks to reach consensus on environmental policies and responses at the regional level and to channel international cooperation activities in the region. It is supported by UNEP, UNDP, ECLAC, IDB and the World Bank. It will be held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
