April: Weather events not to be missed!
The fourth month of the year has begun and we want to share with you the events related to climate change that will be held in person and virtually through webinars. Don't miss them, get involved and be part of the climate action.
These meetings are very important because they contribute to the construction of the road towards a better climate world.
Events scheduled for April 2017:
- April 3-5: The Sustainable Energy for All Forum
The Sustainable Energy for All Forum is a great opportunity to exchange new ideas, stimulate investment and drive action towards sustainable energy and achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7. CEOs from around the world will share their stories on how they are achieving these results to build a better world. More information here.
- April 4 to May 2: Environmental Education Course
The objective of this course is to understand and apply, in an assertive way, the tools and resources of environmental education in the area in which it intervenes or works. It is aimed at those people interested in strengthening their skills or updating their knowledge in the field of environmental education and who wish to have a frame of reference to initiate environmental education processes in the area where they work. - April 5: Research that contributes to climate action in Latin America
The implementation of initiatives to address climate change issues is often undermined by a lack of sound scientific information to support them. Between 2011 and 2015, the Climate and Development Knowledge Partnership (CDKN) funded 16 research projects on climate change and climate compatible development in Latin America, with the aim of providing inputs for decision making in priority countries and strengthening this field of research in the region. The projects involved 14 Latin American countries. The results of these projects are summarized in a compilation by the Regional Center for Climate Change and Decision Making.
This webinar will present the compilation of these 16 research studies developed in Latin America. The most important results will be shared and their relevance to strengthen the academic field of climate compatible development in the region will be discussed. More information here.

- April 5-7: World Economic Forum on Latin America 2017
The World Economic Forum (WEF) for Latin America is a regional seminar of the renowned Davos Forum held every year in that Swiss city. This event is a source of ideas and a trigger of conversations for the economy in the region and the world. Learn more about the WEF here.
- April 11: Behind the bricks: comprehensive management for the informal sector
Learn about experiences implemented in Latin America to improve the brick sector, with a market approach applicable to various sectors, achieving as benefits the reduction of greenhouse gases and economic improvement of the sector. Organized by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Peru. Register here.
- April 21 and 22: Climate Expo 2017
The event will be held at the Lima convention center and will bring together representatives from the public sector, companies, academia and NGOs. It will undoubtedly be a great opportunity for learning and education, to generate contacts and present your products or services. More information here.

- April 28: VIII Pan-Amazonian Social Forum
The World Social Forum is a space that brings together thousands of social movements, organizations, collectives and individuals fighting for an alternative globalization based on social and environmental justice.
