        The United Nations General Assembly declared this date to prevent the exploitation of the environment in wars and armed conflicts through actions to raise awareness among the world's population of the impact on the environment during human conflicts. Contaminated water wells, burned crops, felled forests, poisoned soils and animals sacrificed for military advantage are the forgotten martyrs of conflicts.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          Instituted to address factors that negatively impact wildlife, such as selective extraction for commercial or sporting purposes, climate change or the introduction of exotic species. Peru is second in bird diversity, with more than 1,800 species, and third in amphibian and mammal species. It has almost 2,000 varieties of fish. It has 11 ecoregions, 28 of the 32 types of climate and 84 of the 117 life zones in the world.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

            This date commemorates the signing of the International Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, during the sixteenth General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO. It invites institutions and citizens to act in the face of the deterioration or disappearance of a cultural and natural heritage property; in view of the importance for all the peoples of the world of preserving these unique and irreplaceable properties, regardless of the country to which they belong.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

              The celebration is a reminder to humanity against the degradation of the environment due to the persistent pollution from industrial gases, vehicles and forest fires. This day is considered a fight against ecological problems, therefore it is a space to reflect on the negative consequences generated by polluted air, so that the necessary measures are adopted to provide the population with a clean air environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
