More than 200 Peruvian projects participated in the 2026 Green Awards call, positioning the country as one of the most dynamic sustainable innovation ecosystems in the region.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Peru was one of the five countries with the highest participation in the 2026 edition of Premios Verdes \u201cthe radiography of Latin America\u201d, one of the most relevant platforms for acceleration and continuous training in sustainability, innovation and impact in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>

The result highlights a broad Peruvian participation with more than 200 projects within a regional call for proposals that received more than\u00a02,087 cases enrolled<\/strong>, following in the footsteps of Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Argentina; national participation reflects the growth of an ecosystem increasingly committed to sustainable transformation, innovation and territorial development.<\/p>

\u201cPeru comes to this edition with a participation that speaks of territorial diversity and a broad sustainable agenda. Beyond the 200 projects registered; we see initiatives that are addressing challenges linked to human development, food production, cities, water, circular economy, ecosystems and sustainable finance,\u201d said Gustavo Manrique, co-founder and president of Premios Verdes.<\/em><\/p>

According to the results of the call for proposals, the trends by category for Peru show presence in areas such as\u00a0Sustainable Finance, Human Development, Resilient Cities and Communities, Agriculture and Food Production, Freshwater and Circular Economy.<\/strong>. This participation allows observing initiatives linked to social inclusion, sustainable production, urban resilience, water resource management, circular models and conservation. The initiatives show how sustainability and innovation are beginning to be integrated in a transversal manner in companies, enterprises, organizations and communities in the country.<\/p>

Peru also shows a relevant participation in Finance. This data allows us to connect the Peruvian participation with a strategic line within the call: the mobilization of resources, financial instruments and initiatives that seek to facilitate the transition to sustainable models.<\/p>

One of the most relevant data of this edition is that 52% of the Peruvian projects registered are led by women, reflecting the growing female leadership within the regional innovation and impact ecosystem.<\/p>

The Green Awards are currently in the technical evaluation and capacity building stage. As part of the process, the initiatives will receive support, evaluation by international experts and training opportunities before the official announcement of the 500 outstanding projects in Latin America, scheduled for June.<\/p>

The 2026 edition of Premios Verdes will have its global meeting in October in Cuenca, Ecuador, where projects, leaders, organizations, companies, academia, governments and actors linked to the regional sustainability ecosystem will meet. Likewise, Peru will have its first Country Chapter edition in August of this year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
