The meeting <\/span>\u201cStrengthening the ecosystem of climate solutions and green business in Peru.\u201d<\/b>, organized by <\/span>Dragonfly and nexos+1<\/b>, The event brought together representatives of the public sector, companies, investors, entrepreneurs, academia and international cooperation with the aim of strengthening coordination among key actors and promoting the financing of climate projects in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, held at the <\/span>University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC)<\/b>, marked the closing of the program <\/span>Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) in Peru<\/b>, The United Kingdom Government's initiative seeks to accelerate the development of climate projects with investment potential and facilitate their access to financing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main challenges for mobilizing capital for climate solutions were discussed during the day. In his presentation on the global climate finance landscape, <\/span>Laura Rizzotto<\/b>, The global leader of the Climate Finance Accelerator, noted that climate finance has reached <\/span>US$ 1.9 billion in 2023<\/b>, of which <\/span>US$ 1 billion came from private financing<\/b>, The company's public funding for the first time exceeded that of the public sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, he explained that the investment gap remains significant. One of the highlights of the meeting was the panel on <\/span>\u201cStrengthening the climate solutions ecosystem.\u201d<\/b>, where specialists from <\/span>Mexico, Colombia and Brazil<\/b> shared experiences on how to mobilize financing for climate projects and strengthen innovation ecosystems in Latin America.<\/span><\/p>

The panelists emphasized the importance of aligning <\/span>public policies, private investment and project development<\/b>, and the role of the private sector in driving climate solutions within their value chains.<\/span><\/p>

During the second part of the meeting, the participants worked on <\/span>Climate Challenge Labs<\/b>, The event was a collaborative space in which companies, universities, climate projects and investors analyzed ecosystem barriers and explored opportunities to improve the connection between projects, financing and technical capabilities.<\/span><\/p>

The laboratories made it possible to identify common challenges and generate proposals to strengthen coordination among stakeholders, improve the preparation of climate projects and facilitate their access to investment.<\/span><\/p>

The meeting concluded with a call to continue strengthening collaboration between the public sector, private sector, academia and the entrepreneurial ecosystem to accelerate the development of climate solutions and green businesses in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
