The week of April 8-12 brought important news on climate change and sustainability issues, such as the launching ceremony of the COP 25 Climate Change Summit, a prototype of a floating city in New York, a new model of tolling polluting vehicles in London and a ranking of universities that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n On Thursday 11, the President of the Republic of Chile, Sebasti\u00e1n Pi\u00f1era, inaugurated the Summit on Climate Change COP 25. The Cerrillos Bicentennial Park has been the place confirmed by the organizers due to its \u00abgreat connectivity, its green areas and easy access for citizens\u00bb. The floating platforms - which would be made of wood and bamboo - would each have a surface area of 18,200 square meters and could house 300 people. As the sea level rises, the platforms would rise, being able to withstand hurricanes. From an urban planning point of view, six platforms would form a hexagon-shaped village, while six villages would form a city of more than 10,000 inhabitants. Source: RT. The aim is to reduce the number of vehicles in the city and it is estimated that approximately 40,000 cars will be affected daily.
