- MEM proposes a regulatory modification that will boost renewable energies<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
This week the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) published the draft supreme decree to achieve the recognition of the firm power of non-conventional renewable energy plants (RER). This recognition would allow power generators to sign energy sale contracts without having to go through the spot market, which currently has depressed prices. As part of its #MM\u00e1sVidaMenosPl\u00e1stico campaign to reduce the consumption of single-use plastics, the Ministry of the Environment has prepared a directory of companies that offer ecological alternatives to plastic. You can find suppliers of products made from natural fibers, starch, corn starch, sugar cane bagasse, biodegradable and compostable materials, among others. Source: MINAM. - BBVA and Ferreycorp agree on first green loan in Peru and South America<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
BBVA Continental signed this week with the company Ferreycorp the first corporate green bilateral loan in Peru and South America for an amount of 70 million dollars. The purpose of this loan is to promote environmental sustainability and is qualified by the external agency Vigeo Eiris, which certifies through the award of a green certificate that the instrument meets the necessary environmental criteria and is in line with the Green Bond Principles. - Arequipa boy awarded in Stockholm for his Eco project - Banco Cooperativo<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Jos\u00e9 Adolfo Quisocala Condori, a 13-year-old boy from Arequipa, received the 2018 Children's Climate Prize in Stockholm. Jos\u00e9 won thanks to a venture he founded when he was 7 years old: the Bartselana Student Bank. His business consists of children depositing solid waste in the bank that is sold to a paper mill and the money from the sale is then deposited in the child's account but can only be withdrawn when the child meets his or her savings goal.
