Nexos +1 Universitario is supported by Nexos+1 Empresarial, an event that brings together the CEOs of the most important companies in the country to present their proposals on this subject.
Enrolled students will develop workshops where they will present their sustainability proposals in front of a jury.

On Saturday, October 14, the Scientific University of the South will organize Nexus +1 University, the first sustainable science and information event aimed at the university community with the objective of training agents of change.

The event expects to receive more than 1,500 students, between 17 and 24 years old. In addition, there will be specific spaces for a group of students to develop workshops that will allow them to present sustainability proposals in front of a jury.

The main themes on which proposals should be presented are: "Water Challenge: How to ensure access to drinking water for populations that do not have it today", "Solid Waste Challenge: How to avoid the use of disposable materials and generate reduction strategies to generate less and less solid waste", "Animal Welfare Challenge: How to generate a harmonious coexistence between animals and the populations that cohabit our cities", "Healthy Eating Challenge: How to promote healthy eating in children and young people for the welfare of people and the planet".

Among the main panelists will be Astrid Gutsche, chef committed to the conservation of biodiversity in the kitchen; Joaquín Leguía, Executive Director of Asociación para la Niñez y su Ambiente; Alejandro Balaguer, journalist, photographer and documentary filmmaker recognized for his productions in favor of sustainable development; Javier Perla, Forestry Engineer and Manager of the environmental consulting firm Libélula.

Regarding the importance of this event for the university, the General Academic Director of the Universidad Científica de Sur, Jose Agustín Ortiz, commented that "The new global challenges require solutions that bring together visions from different careers and disciplines to multiply our impact on the world. The future will belong to those of us who learn to work together around one purpose: sustainability".

Some of the brands that will be present are: Coca Cola, Entel, 3M, Tottus, Cálidda, Ferreyros, Pacífico, among others. The event will culminate with a concert for attendees, by the group We The Lion at 7:30pm.
