A time machine landed at the Airport and is causing a stir
Just days before the start of COP20 in Lima, we have installed “The Time Machine” at Jorge Chavez airport: a futuristic structure made of recyclable 100% cardboard with the mission of raising awareness about the impact of our civilization on the climate, while at the same time highlighting the importance of COP20.
This “time travel” shows compelling information that illustrates two major climate change scenarios for 2050: what the world would be like if humanity continues its current trend of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, versus a future in which urgent measures are taken to avoid exceeding 2 degrees Celsius in the global average temperature.
Polo Macera, Libélula's Creative Director, toured the machine with local journalists so they could get to know it «in situ». He also spoke to the following Peruvian media: Frecuencia Latina, Canal N, América Televisión and TV Perú.

This installation is possible thanks to the support of private companies such as Lima Airport Partners, Pacífico Seguros and Libélula, Climate Change Management and Communication, which join efforts with the Ministry of Environment to offer passengers and visitors of Jorge Chávez Airport a “journey through time” through the past, present and possible futures in the face of climate change.
The Time Machine has already had more than 2,000 visitors in less than a week, have you visited it yet?
You can also follow the Time Machine virtually:
