Libélula, Climate Change Management and Communication, in alliance with SGS, held a breakfast in order to orient the private sector on the importance of measuring their Carbon Footprint and the benefits derived from it. The following participated as speakers: Notaría Paino, UNICON, SERNANP and the NGO CIMA. .

The purpose of the event was to disseminate, educate and raise awareness among private companies, government and civil society about the importance of the Carbon Footprint. Making an environmental diagnosis is the first step to start a path of efficiency at the organizational level. Among the lessons learned, the good practices of the Paino Notary Office were shared, as the first carbon neutral legal services company.

Thanks to the Carbon Footprint Measurement, this company was able to improve labor production times since they register and order the documents they prepare with pro-measurement criteria Carbon Footprint. As a result, they have been able to save s/. 26,000 per year in paper, 1,390.89 gallons of fuel and 6,336 km traveled in paperwork. In addition, the Paino Notary's office purchased emission reduction certificates to support the conservation of the Cordillera Azul National Park.

On the other hand, UNICON is part of the water reuse system in the plant. It has obtained the Green Seal, which certifies products that favor sustainable construction. The company has managed to increase the Global Reporting Initiative GRI indicators and include verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its Internal Audit Plan. UNICON is the first company in the ready-mix concrete industry to verify GHG emissions.

The NGO CIMA presented the natural legacy of the Peruvian Amazon to the world, the Cordillera Azul National Park, considered by SENARP - MINAM as the protected natural area with the best conservation index, maintaining a zero deforestation rate. The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State SENARP emphasized that it is developing links for institutions to buy carbon credits through national parks.
