We offer you a compilation of events related to climate change that will take place during September, as well as commemorative dates worldwide. You can't miss them!

September 9 to 11:

Latin American Carbon Forum (LatinCarbon)

The Latin American Carbon Forum is the platform for the dissemination of knowledge and exchange of information and experiences. It facilitates an environment with business opportunities among the main stakeholders of climate finance and the emissions market. The Forum is held in Santiago, Chile.

September 9:

Green Talk at the Universidad de Lima - Time: 2:00 pm

The Center for Environmental Studies (CEA) has initiated a research project to establish an inventory of greenhouse gases generated by the academic and administrative activities of the University of Lima. The inventory will be expressed in tons of CO2.

The talk will show the components to be measured, the emission factors and the various mechanisms that can be applied to reduce and eventually offset an organization's carbon footprint.

Peruvian-Nordic Forum on Sustainable Development

On September 10 at 8:30 am the Peruvian-Nordic Forum on Sustainable Development will be held, organized by the Social Responsibility Committee of the Nordic Chamber. Different experts in the field will be present to share their experiences and knowledge. More information here.

September 14 and 15:

Regional Workshop on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) for Latin America and the Caribbean

The workshop, organized by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), aims to support developing countries in the design and implementation of NAMAs. It will be held in Santiago, Chile.

September 21:

Webinar (virtual meeting): National Contributions in Latin America

As part of the new climate agreement, which will be signed in December 2015 in Paris, each country will be required to submit an INDC detailing its contribution to the global effort needed to address climate change. For Latin America, the relevance of INDCs goes beyond the international level: they are a key opportunity to redirect the growth of countries towards a clean, inclusive and resilient development to the impacts of climate change. The webinar, organized by Nivela and ConexiónCOP, will discuss this and other relevant issues for our region.
