SMEs could save S/. 4.5 million annually thanks to the new platform “Ecopyme”.”
Today Ecopyme was launched, the digital platform where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can register, calculate and monitor their energy and water consumption, as well as obtain recommendations and eco-efficient solutions to enhance their economic progress based on the development of good environmental practices (GEP).
More than 6350 SMEs will have the opportunity to save up to 4.5 million soles per year if they apply efficient measures in water and electricity consumption. How will they achieve this? By using this tool, companies can reduce their electricity consumption by 36 million kilowatt-hours, which is equivalent to 1.5 million soles in energy billing. It also means a reduction in consumption of 500 million liters of water, which translates into savings of 3 million soles.
Javier Perla, Libélula's Sustainable Business Manager, highlighted that “The Ecopyme tool provides solutions for sustainable energy and water practices for small and medium-sized companies”.
The initiative is free of charge and has the participation of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), World Wildlife Found (WWF), Backus and Libélula.
This platform is part of the contribution to the business sector within the framework of the Earth Hour campaign, to help the private sector reduce the negative effects of climate change while lowering its operating costs.
