The study "Financial Mechanisms for Adaptation to Climate Change: The Role of Microfinance" aims to conduct a first exploration of how financial mechanisms, especially microcredit, could facilitate adaptation to climate change for the inhabitants of rural areas of Cusco and Apurimac, Peru.
Based on the analysis of the situation in these regions, a proposal is formulated for a rural microfinance system with the participation of different key actors to promote adaptation to climate change, identifying the roles that would correspond to these actors for the operation of such a system and what would be the basic conditions for the development of financing services of this type.
