This study aims to provide an overview of the state of the art of NDC implementation in Latin American countries, identifying strengths, challenges and unmet needs, as well as success stories that can be replicated in other countries. Compliance with the commitments established in the NDCs is fundamental in the face of the global challenge of mitigation and adaptation. Therefore, it is essential to monitor the actions carried out by each country in order to identify the effectiveness of policies, good practices and existing gaps.

Those who access this document will be able to know in detail the policies and strategies advanced by each of the 18 Latin American countries studied, in the definition and planning of their national actions to contribute to the reduction of the factors that cause climate change. This work has been possible thanks to the research teams, made up of professionals from different disciplines. I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of the focal points appointed by the governments of each participating country, professionals belonging to technical and sectoral areas of public administration, who promote at national and regional level the application of the results generated within the framework of the EUROCLIMA+ program.
