The LEDS LAC platform is a community of people and organizations that are driving the transformation towards resilient and low-emission development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
LEDS LAC is the regional platform for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Low Emissions and Climate Resilient Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS GP). It was launched in 2012.
How do we do it?
LEDS LAC operates under the general principles of LEDS GP. It has an independent Steering Committee made up of representatives from international organizations, governmental institutions and NGOs in the region. Its Secretariat is operated by Libélula Comunicación Ambiente y Desarrollo of Peru, with the support of several institutional partners.
Why do we do it?
The platform is a regional meeting place to (1) open opportunities for technical collaboration and synergies, (2) strengthen capacities and promote joint learning (3) systematize and disseminate information, tools and resources to achieve transformation.
As of October 2020, the platform has more than 2330 registered members, mostly from the LAC region but also from other regions of the world. Membership is open, resulting in a wide diversity in representation from governments, private sector, consultants, multilateral and bilateral cooperation agencies, NGOs, civil society and academia.

- The Secretariat is operated by Libélula with the support of NREL.
- Collaboration with the Climate Governance component of the EUROCLIMA+ program (GIZ and FIIAPP) for the Communities of Practice on Articulation with the Private Sector and Climate Policy Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Collaboration with Asociación Sustentar for the Electric Mobility and Sustainable Logistics Communities of Practice, as well as the Transportation Working Group and Resource Efficiency Working Group.

Communities of Practice
Virtual and face-to-face meeting spaces that seek to discuss climate change issues with high transformational power that lead to public policies that reduce emissions and risks, through exchanges and peer-to-peer learning, training, technical assistance and accompaniment within the framework of these communities.
Webinars
Virtual exchange spaces on specific aspects related to regional climate change, presenting concrete cases of experiences in LAC countries.
Regional Workshops
Annual workshops in which the main protagonists of change in the region share their experience, define courses of action in each of the countries with respect to the NDCs, as well as the elements necessary to increase ambition.
LEDSenLAC
Tool for regional monitoring of NDC implementation, analysis of compliance and consistency with the main regional and national emissions drivers.
