The LEDS LAC platform is a community of people and organizations that are driving the transformation towards resilient and low-emission development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

LEDS LAC is the regional platform for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Low Emissions and Climate Resilient Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDS GP). It was launched in 2012.

How do we do it?

LEDS LAC operates under the general principles of LEDS GP. It has an independent Steering Committee made up of representatives from international organizations, governmental institutions and NGOs in the region. Its Secretariat is operated by Libélula Comunicación Ambiente y Desarrollo of Peru, with the support of several institutional partners.

Why do we do it?

The platform is a regional meeting place to (1) open opportunities for technical collaboration and synergies, (2) strengthen capacities and promote joint learning (3) systematize and disseminate information, tools and resources to achieve transformation.

As of October 2020, the platform has more than 2330 registered members, mostly from the LAC region but also from other regions of the world. Membership is open, resulting in a wide diversity in representation from governments, private sector, consultants, multilateral and bilateral cooperation agencies, NGOs, civil society and academia.
