On Monday, November 16, the Minister of the Environment, Manuel Pulgar Vidal inaugurated the “Nexos+1” innovation workshop and explained that transformative action is the central theme for the private sector, and sustainable development is the agenda to 2030. “Due to the issue of climate change, the transformative action has already arrived and there is no turning back, so it is very important to assume this reality and work on the concepts of sustainability.", he said.

The Minister of the Environment also stated that during COP21, two major challenges will be faced: the fight against terrorism and the fight against climate change. “The 2015 is generating the great framework of the concept of development, for which are present the objectives of sustainable development, financing and also green economy, referred to have a decent job, work sustainably and under a clean technology.”, he explained.

Finally, he said that Peru is making progress on sustainability issues because it assumed leadership at the COP20 (world summit on climate change), has earned a central prestige in the climate debate, and has shown the world that it is capable of leading a complex discussion.

 Innovation and sustainability workshop

Nexos +1 is an innovative innovation workshop, which seeks to enhance the vision of entrepreneurs, managers and collaborators, regarding sustainability in order to improve business strategies and the interaction of different areas and departments. The event began on Monday, November 16 and will culminate on Tuesday, November 17.

The objective of Nexos+1 is to transform the strategic vision of companies and organizations, to incorporate sustainability at the heart of the business, and to generate solutions to major problems through solutions that articulate diverse actors.

Among the sustainability experts who will be present at Nexos+1 will be Gunter Pauli, guru of sustainable economy and author of the best seller “Blue Economy”, who will explain the future trends in sustainability issues. Gunter Pauli will be present on Tuesday 17 at 11 am.

His presentation is particularly relevant in the context of the economic slowdown Peru is facing, given that business models based on sustainability are especially useful for reversing, diversifying and boosting economies.

Through innovation tables, people will solve questions to face the slowdown of the Peruvian economy, improving the competitiveness of companies through sustainability.

Over two days, Nexos+1 will cover topics such as: “The new megatrends for the business world”, “Reputation and positioning”, “The blue economy: Multiple flows, multiple benefits” and “Sustainability at the heart of companies: talent management, eco-efficiency, supply chains, finance and innovation”, among others.

Nexos+1 takes place at the DomosArt Complex on the Costa Verde, located on the border between Magdalena and San Isidro, next to the complex where Mistura was organized. It is organized by Libélula.
