Conservamos por Naturaleza invites you to celebrate their fifth anniversary and wants to share their joy with all the people who inspire them and celebrate a day with music, food, documentaries, good vibes and activities for everyone. The celebration will be from 11:00am until 9pm at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) in Barranco.

The World Low Carbon Cities Forum is a global, citizen-led event that aims to raise awareness, spread knowledge and promote innovative solutions to collectively build new cities that are resilient to climate change.

How to make our cities smarter, safer and more climate resilient? This conference will address the challenges in Latin America's growth, the changing electoral map and political landscape in the region, as well as the role of independent judiciaries in the face of recent corruption cases. The event will be held on 6/09 at 12:00 pm and 7/09 at 8:00 am, in Washington DC but you can follow it via streaming at this link and on Twitter with the HT #DiálogoCAF or through the accounts @The_Dialogue, @AgendaCAF and @OAS_Official.

The objective of this meeting is to inspire, energize and activate the community to promote the transition to the Circular Economy in Uruguay and the region. It will have three blocks with moderators, more than 20 presentations and three keynote speeches. The forum offers knowledge and concrete tools to understand the future of the economy under a circular production model.

15 presenters will present their ideas, projects and designs. They are students, academics and entrepreneurs from different disciplines: architecture, graphic design, fashion, music, photography, industrial engineering, film, multimedia, advertising, anthropology, etc. Starts at 8pm at UTEC - Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (Jr. Medrano Silva 165, Barranco).

  • September 11 to 30: “Research for development: 17 goals for a sustainable future”.”

This exhibition by the Institute of Research for Development (IRD), the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and the French Development Agency (AFD) illustrates in an informative way the fundamental importance of scientific research to achieve sustainable development. It will be held in the Garden of the Art Dining Room of the Catholic University.

During this forum “Qanchary Llaqta: the energy self-management model” will be presented, which seeks to enable families and rural communities in Peru to generate their own energy from agricultural and forestry waste. The need to implement a comprehensive management model for the bioenergy market in Peru will be discussed. Starts at 08:30 am at the Graduate School of Ricardo Palma University.

As part of the #GlobalGoalsJam week, the first ODS Hackathon will be held in Peru on September 16 and 17. Organized by Peru 2021, UNDP Peru (United Nations), IBM Peru, the Ministry of Production of Peru and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Peru, with the support of Ceplan Peru and UTEC Ventures. New York Climate Week is one of the premier summits on the international calendar and has been driving climate action since its launch by The Climate Group in 2009. This year, it comes at a critical point in the global response to climate change. The summit will take place alongside the UN General Assembly and will bring together international leaders from business, government and civil society to showcase the unstoppable momentum of global climate action. The Sustainable Investment Forum is the largest finance-focused event held during New York Climate Week. It is back for its second edition this September 19. Organized in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI) and building on the success of the 2016 edition, the Forum will welcome over 350 attendees representing asset owners and managers, commercial banks, development banks, and national policy makers looking to drive innovation and collaboration. Key topics to be covered include decarbonizing investment portfolios, reducing risk, maximizing public and private benefit, and innovative financial tools and technologies.

Proyecto Játi is pleased to present the first full day conference where attendees will discover the latest trends in renewable energy and bioclimatic architecture. This event brings together professionals with years of experience in the field. The conferences run from 09:00 am to 6pm and will contribute to the training and / or updating of professionals at UNI.

To carry out studies in ecology and biodiversity it is necessary to correctly characterize forests, thus knowing the state in which they are, the temporal variation, age, succession, etc., which allows us to recognize and predict the presence or absence of species, in order to generate tools for forest management. This course aims to provide basic knowledge on forest characterization as a tool for future studies in ecology and biodiversity. Course schedule: Saturday, September 30 from 09:30 am to 4:30 pm.
