Peruvian women install solar panels and light up their communities
Today is International Women's Day. We remember this story by ConexiónCOP, which won in December 2015 the international competition Voices2Paris, organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Oxfam.
Five women from the province of Candarave, located in Tacna, Peru, traveled to India to train and learn how to install solar panels. The lessons learned have enabled 272 families to have electricity and improve their quality of life. Solar panels prevent the increase of greenhouse gases and help to combat climate change.
