This 2016 has been a year of great progress in the fight against climate change, the challenges have increased and with the entry into force of the Paris Agreement, nations have taken the first firm step to reduce greenhouse gases and facilitate adaptation to new climate scenarios.

These are the 10 most transcendental climate news that took place in Peru and the world this year:

In Peru:

  1. Equipment installed in Amazon River to assess the effects of climate change. With the support of the Brazilian government, the National Water Authority (ANA) in Peru will implement in the coming days a satellite hydro-meteorological monitoring network in the Amazon and Napo rivers (Loreto), for a social and sustained management of their waters.  Source: ConexiónCOP
  2. APEC addresses vulnerabilities to climate change.
