February has begun and we present the events related to climate change that will be held in person and virtually through webinars so that you do not miss a single detail. All these meetings are very important because they contribute to the construction of the path towards a better climate world.

Events:

February 2: World Wetlands Day.

The importance of wetlands as ecosystems is highlighted. Fishing, rice cultivation, tourism activities, and even water supply depend on wetlands. They have a large and wide biodiversity, protect coasts and contain floods. Wetlands are also carbon reservoirs and help mitigate climate change.

February 07: Basis for resilient development in coastal marine zones

This webinar will discuss the methodological approach used by the WaterClima-LAC project, funded by the European Commission and implemented by a consortium of academic institutions in the region, to understand and build the resilience of coastal zone communities.

February 15: Start of entries for the Green Latin America Awards

The 4th edition of the Latin America Green Awards is here. They are looking for the best socio-environmental projects in the region. February 23: Event on distributed generation - GestionCC

The objective of the workshop is to disseminate international experiences on DG, exploring together with stakeholders and competent institutions the barriers and opportunities for its implementation. The workshop also aims to be a space for the exchange of information on successful business models and policy options appropriate to the local context that benefit the different market actors.
