Maria Paz Cigaran
Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer
María Paz is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad Católica (UCAB) Venezuela, with studies in Air Quality Management in Japan and training in the Swiss Model of Emissions and Pollutant Dispersion in Switzerland.
Maria Paz has more than 18 years of experience working with the public sector, private sector and international and intergovernmental organizations in Climate Change and Development. Maria Paz has deep experience in articulating dialogues and stakeholders, and translating messages for different audiences in multi-cultural and multi-stakeholder environments.
In his professional career he has:
- Led the Peruvian team and supported the Peruvian government for the International Climate Change (CC) Negotiations;
- Led the National Governmental Air Quality Team, Climate Change Program and Negotiation for 7 years;
- Co-chaired UNFCCC negotiation meetings (SBSTA);
- Served as lead reviewer of UNFCCC Annex I GHG inventories;
- Provided technical and strategic assistance on climate change for LAC countries, coordinated project implementation, and facilitated international and national meetings, including
- Facilitated workshops and technical and policy meetings around the world in various countries and stakeholders.
- Co-chair of the Global Alliance for Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDs GP).
She is currently vice president of the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP), co-founder and board member of L + 1 (CEOs for Sustainability) and Sistema B Peru (Companies with Purpose), and is a member of the Advisory Committees of Universities in Peru.
