This morning, the corporate breakfast “Private enterprise in the face of COP 20: New opportunities to combat climate change and poverty” was held, organized by Libélula and Microsol, with the support of the Peruvian-French Chamber of Commerce.

Our Sustainable Business Manager, Javier Perla, began by presenting the current panorama of companies in the face of climate change and about the “green revolution” that some of them are already experiencing and how this can mean an opportunity to anticipate future restrictions.

He also explained that there is currently a lot of movement globally to start migrating to a low-carbon economy and that COP 20 is a great opportunity, which will bring profitable business for private enterprise.

Nadia Wagner, Program Manager-South America at Microsol, spoke about a new perspective on social carbon and how it can be useful in addressing climate change. She also mentioned Microsol's work and how it supports developers of appropriate energy projects, generating the opportunities offered by the carbon market to ensure their sustainability.

He presented the program called Qori Q'oncha, an initiative registered in 2010 by Microsol, which currently benefits more than 500 thousand Peruvians living in poverty with the implementation of 110 thousand improved cookstoves that has generated 5 million for program partners.
