“Although our country does not emit many greenhouse gases (less than 0.5% of global emissions), it is strongly affected by them. That is why it is of great interest to us that an agreement is reached,” explains María Elena Gutiérrez, our Research Manager for Somos magazine.

María Elena recently participated in a report by Somos de El Comercio magazine on the COP20 and the details of this important world event, which will take place in Lima on December 12.

He explained that this is the most relevant meeting on climate change and that there is an urgent need to reach a global agreement to combat this phenomenon.

He also mentioned the importance of this event for Peru and the opportunities that hosting this conference can generate for us, which will be attended by presidents, heads of government, ministers, representatives of civil society and journalists from 195 countries.
