Sources of financing articulated to decarbonization processes in LAC

About the event

On September 7, 2022, the Webinar “Sources of financing articulated to decarbonization processes in LAC ” was held, the fifth in a series of webinars initiated in 2021. This event was co-organized by DecarBOOST and CCAP, promoted by the nexos+1 platform, and focused on climate finance, with the participation of 151 specialists and experts from 21 countries, especially from Latin America. The webinar aimed to provide information on the issues to be addressed at the upcoming COP27 and their relevance for the region, as well as to inform about existing sources of financing, the new funding target and investment trends, articulable to decarbonization processes in LAC.

Two keynote presentations were given by Alejandra López Carvajal, finance and capacity building advisor of the Independent Association of Latin America and the Caribbean (AILAC) and the second presentation was given by Lukas Kahlen of the New Climate Institute who presented the results of the Annual Investment Report 2021. The welcome and conclusions were given by Project Co-Director Max Horstink and moderated by Adriana Bazán Fuster, Senior Climate Finance Associate at CCAP.

Objetive

Provide information on the topics to be discussed at the next COP27 and their relevance for the region, the sources of financing and the new financing goal and investment trends, which can be articulated to the decarbonization processes in LAC.
